Theuma invests in a solar panel park in Bekkevoort (Belgium). On Tuesday 25 October, Theuma signed the contract with Ikaros, for the delivery, assembly and maintenance of the solar panel park of 293 kilowatt-peak.
In Western-Europe there is enough sun to activate the solar panels. The solar panels convert sunlight into electricity. This is a durable process, because there is no release of hazardous emissions during the production of electricity.
On an annual basis, the solar panels harvest approximately 250.000 kWh electricity. That is the same amount of electricity used by sixty families. Theuma will annually save 120 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
Durable start 2012
The installation of the solar panel park starts in November. Before the end of this year, there will be approximately 1000 solar panels on the roof of the factory.
The solar panel project fits perfect into our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy.
