Student campus University of Sussex

The Balfour Beatty construction project involved converting a student accommodation complex at Sussex university.

What did we do?

The original building held 600 beds and was transformed to create a new student accommodation complex with 2,000 bedrooms. It also includes innovative student facilities such as social hubs and a new student union facility.

Theuma was responsible for supplying 6,000 fire-, smoke- and burglar-resistant doors and frames for this project. All the bedroom doors and cluster entrance doorsets have an HPL finish. For the general entrances, our PAS24 doors were the most suitable. The kitchen doors have glass side panels to let in the light. The bathroom doors and ‘riser doors’ have been finished with extra hard EBC lacquer.

Did you know that we also have customised solutions for bathroom pod frames?
